Pipes started buying cars and hauling cars many years ago. The business was set up in Shreveport in 1963 and has been serving Shreveport, Bossier City and the state every since.

Pipes began with paint and body shop work. Left over parts were accumulated as a by-product of that business. Before long, customers were asking more and more about auto parts and the business model changed to accommodate the demand.

In 1967, Pipes Auto Parts opened (see images below). Soon other locations, including Pipes GM and Pipes Ford & Chrysler, were open to specialize in car parts for specific models. A Pipes U-Pull-It opened on Mansfield Road in 1988. In 1990, another Pipes U-Pull-It was opened on Aero Drive, followed by a third opening in Bossier City on East Texas Street in 1991.

The company’s name changed in 1997 from Pipes U-Pull-It to U-Auto-Pull-It Auto Parts, and the business’s success continued. In 2003, the team opened up a Monroe location, followed by an opening in Alexandria in 2007. In 2018 the company's name changed again to UAPI Auto Parts.

But we are still Pipes.  Pipes Car Hauling LLC was registered with the state in 2007.
